Updated Standard Operating Procedure

These changes allow us to significantly increase our capacity and see more patients safely, however, your appointment could be deferred at short notice if you attend with ANY cold illness symptoms or been exposed to Covid-19. We apologise for any inconvenience to those individuals affected, but the new national rules are essential to allow us to increase the number of patients we can safely see.

From the 16th February 2022

We can reopen our waiting room (Social Distancing is still required) You MUST still wear a face mask when you are inside the practice, unless you can provide evidence of exemption, you will not be allowed to enter or attend your appointment without a face mask.

However…

1) You cannot attend standard clinical appointments if you have ANY cold illness symptoms and/or been exposed to Covid-19.

Have you or any member of their household had a confirmed Covid-19 diagnosis in the last 10 days

Cough

Cold / congestion

Are you or any member of your household awaiting a Covid-19 PCR test result

Headache/sinus pain

fever / Temperature

Have you or any member of your household been asked to self-isolate by any NHS organisation within the last 10 day

Lethargy/weakness/tiredness

Loss of smell / taste

Have you travelled internationally in the last 10 days to a country on the government red list

If you have an appointment: If you have been exposed to Covid-19 and/or have ANY cold illness symptoms – You MUST CANCEL your routine scheduled appointments! Please call us on 01326 312 264 for advice. DO NOT attend, If you attend, your appointment will be cancelled at short notice and you will not be seen.

If you have an urgent dental problem: If you have been exposed to Covid-19 and/or have ANY cold illness symptoms. Please call us on 01326 312 264 for advice – following screening by a dentist, an appointment can be provided on an appropriate clinic to ensure continued safety for both you and other patients.

2) Clinical Prioritisation of Patients is still in place – as we are unable to see as many patients as we could prior to the introduction of the covid-19 safety restrictions. This means we have to prioritise patients with the greatest need, this could affect you in the following ways:

* Your routine dental appointment postponed, sometimes at short notice

  • Much longer waiting times for routine treatment
  • Less regular dental check-up appointments

We welcome new patients to the practice and encourage them to discuss with us any need for additional support ,-Parking is not available at the practice, however Blue badge holders are welcome to park on the road outside. -For patients with Hearing impairment we can provide a portable hearing Loop system. -For patients with mobility issues access to the practice is via a ramp for wheelchair users to an accessible surgery, however due to the practice being a town house converted to a dental practice, the downstairs toilet has narrow access not wide enough to enter with a wheelchair . We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause there is a disabled access toilet 2 minutes from the practice in Kimberley park . Some of our surgeries are on the first floor via a flight of stairs. It is important to let us know in advance if a downstairs surgery or additional support is needed .

Emergencies

During surgery hours please contact the practice and every effort will be made to see you as soon as possible. Outside of surgery hours the practice answer phone will provide the numbers of the emergency service for registered patients only.
