Missing teeth can not only have an effect on your self-confidence, it can cause issues with eating, speaking, and smiling. At Kimberley Park Dental Practice we offer a range of full and partial dentures, depending on your unique needs. We’ll have an initial consultation, discuss your goals, and create a treatment plan to help you get back to living life without having to worry about eating and smiling.
It’s common for people to wear dentures to replace lost or missing teeth, helping them to enjoy a normal diet and be able to smile with confidence. When it comes to dentures at Kimberley Park Dental Practice, you have a couple of different options, depending on your unique needs. A full set of dentures (made from high quality acrylic) works well to replace all the natural teeth in either the upper or lower jaws, whereas our partial dentures (made from either resin or cobalt chrome metal) help to fill in the spaces created by missing teeth, and can be attached to your teeth with metal clasps or attachments.
Dentures help to:
We know it’s a very personal journey to getting your dentures, and it can take several appointments to create the perfect dentures for you, which is why we’re here to support you from your initial consultation with our friendly team right through to follow-up and aftercare. With more than 25 years’ experience in family dentistry and orthodontics, Kimberley Park Dental Practice is the place to go for your professional, high quality dentures in Falmouth.
Step 1. Book a consultation
At your initial consultation, one of our dentists will perform a thorough oral health examination and take some diagnostic images and photographs. We’ll then work with you to create a tailored treatment plan according to your smile goals, talk you through the treatment plan in detail and any options or alternatives there may be, and answer any questions you have.
Step 2. The denture design process
After your initial consultation, you’ll need to have several more appointments to make sure your denture fit and design is exactly right for your teeth. It needs to be comfortable for you and realistic-looking, so we need to have regular fittings to make sure we’re on the right track. Depending on the size and type of your denture, your new teeth could be ready in a few weeks; or it might take a few months to perfect your dentures.
Step 3: Smile at everyone with your brand new set of teeth!
When your new dentures are ready to go, it’s time for you to start enjoying them! It may take a bit of adjustment getting used to wearing dentures and doing things a bit differently to before, but you’ll be eating, speaking, and smiling normally in no time.

Cosmetic dental treatments
As long as they’re well taken care of, dentures can last several years. In some cases, dentures will need to be relined or remade, as the shape of your mouth changes. In order to prevent problems with worn or poorly fitting dentures, it’s important to replace them before they cause any problems, so regular check-ups are important.
It takes time to get used to wearing new dentures, but once you get used to them, you’ll be fine! We recommend you chew slowly using both sides of your mouth at the same time to prevent the dentures from moving, and start with soft foods cut into small pieces. You can add new and more interesting foods slowly as you get used to your new dentures, and it’s a good idea to practice eating different foods at home before you head out to eat in public or with friends. Don’t worry, you’ll be eating normally in no time!
Your dentures shouldn’t be causing you any pain so if that does happen, remove and clean your dentures thoroughly, as well as your tongue, gums, and your remaining teeth, and check for signs of irritation. If the pain persists, Contact us to book an appointment and we will get you into the practice as soon as possible.
Depending on how many teeth you have left and what your personal preferences are, you may be able to replace missing teeth with a dental bridge or dental implants. Our dentist will help you work through the most suitable options at your appointment.
At first as you’re getting used to your dentures, your speech may be a bit impacted, but once you get used to them, you’ll be speaking as you normally would within no time.
