We know that accidents or unidentified tooth pain can happen from time to time, which is why we offer urgent appointments for dental emergencies at our Falmouth dentist practice. If you require an emergency appointment during the week, please contact the practice at 8.30am, or as soon as possible, on the day, and we’ll do our best to organise an appointment for you.
Calling outside of surgery hours? Kimberley Park Dental Practice is part of a group of local private practices who offer oncall dental services for private, registered patients between 9am and 6pm on weekends and bank holidays. The practice answer phone will provide the number of the oncall practice for that day.
Our private, registered patients get access to emergency dental care on weekends or bank holidays between 9am and 6pm. Each day is covered by a different practice within the group, and the contact information for the oncall dentist on that day or weekend is published on our out of hours answerphone message.
The cost is a £140 oncall fee, as well as the cost of any private treatment that’s also required. Our Kimberley Park Dental Practice Plan patients will need to check their policies as to what emergency dental charges will be covered.
It’s important to understand the difference between needing an urgent dental appointment for a dental emergency, and a regular appointment that’s not necessarily needed on the same day.
If you’re bleeding from the mouth and not able to control the bleeding, it’s considered a dental emergency.
If you’ve lost a tooth because of a forceful impact or injury to your mouth, an emergency dental appointment could save the tooth if it’s dealt with quickly enough
If you have an abscess in your mouth that seems infected, if you’re experiencing swelling in or around your mouth, or if you can feel knots in your jaw, this could be life-threatening and needs to be seen to as soon as possible.

Cracked or chipped teeth may be extremely annoying, but they don’t qualify as a dental emergency unless sharp tooth fragments remain in your mouth, or you’re in severe pain as a result of the chipped or broken tooth.
Unless you’re in severe pain, a mild toothache can wait for a general dental appointment.
This is not considered a dental emergency, but we’ll do our best to see you to fix the issue as soon as we can.
If you’re not in need of an urgent appointment but are experiencing any of the above non-urgent symptoms, you should still contact us so we can get you booked in as soon as possible, and advise you on what to do in the meantime.
